How to get from Cebu airport to Moalboal

Two good ways to get from Mactan-Cebu Airport to Panagsama, Moalboal: a private transfer straight to the door, or the bus from Cebu City.

Garden path to the hostel

Moalboal is on the southwest coast of Cebu. Most travellers arrive at Mactan-Cebu International Airport and travel on by road. Here are your two main options, and what to expect from each.

Option 1: Private transfer (easiest)

A private transfer picks you up at arrivals and drives you straight to the hostel. The drive takes roughly 3–4 hours, depending on traffic.

  • No changes, no luggage on buses, no haggling.
  • Works well for late arrivals, groups and anyone carrying a lot of gear.
  • Timing is planned around your flight.

We arrange private transfers for our guests. Send us your flight details, date and group size on WhatsApp and we’ll confirm the price and pickup time. See our Cebu Airport to Moalboal transfer.

Option 2: Taxi or Grab + bus (cheapest)

  1. Airport to the Cebu South Bus Terminal. Take a taxi or a Grab from the airport to the Cebu South Bus Terminal in Cebu City.
  2. Bus to Moalboal. Catch a southbound bus to Moalboal. The ride takes roughly 3–4 hours.
  3. Tricycle to Panagsama. From the bus stop in Moalboal, a tricycle to Panagsama takes about 10 minutes. Ask for Panagsama Road.

Tips for the bus

  • Keep your valuables with you rather than in the luggage hold.
  • Have some small bills ready for the tricycle.
  • Traffic around Cebu City can be heavy, so leave extra time if you’re catching a connection.
